I've passed out multiple copies of Shane Claiborne's book titled The Irresistible Revolution: Living as an Ordinary Radical. It is a challenging book based upon the questions he is asking and the personal testimony he delivers through it. Shane along with the Simple Way, an intentional community, are tangible examples of the New Monasticism slowly taking root as an alternative and authentic expression of following Christ in this time in history. The radio program "Speaking of Faith" on May 17th, focused their attention on Shane's story and the movement. If you haven't had the chance to read the book yet, this is a great way to get a taste of what is happening as the Spirit is moving in his people in fresh and vibrant ways. I was gonna ask you if you've read Shane Clairborne's book, but now I have my answer. It's amazing, isn't it? A lot of us (especially those who went to the Simulation) have read it and want to do SOMETHING, but are having some difficulty coming up with ideas or sticking with it. Any advice? Can we help at Compassion Santa Cruz in any way?
